Beach Trip

We made our first pilgrimage of the summer to the beach! It was Lyvi's first visit and after a good hard stare at the ocean she jabbered all about her thoughts. Unfortunately her linguistic skills stink at 17 months so I don't know what she thought. Wonder if she liked it or not?

Kids are so beautiful at the beach. I love how they let the sand stick all over them and they just dig around for more. They are constantly moving and touching the sand and water with their bodies -- like puppy dogs romping and rolling around. Three year old Dylan couldn't stop making footprints. He was enamored with the impression he could leave in the sand. At eight Jonathan is ready for more and constantly battled the waves. Jason headed out with him so he could really attack the waves. Lindsay and her best bud Hailey just played side-by-side all day. They could be anywhere and have fun together though. My friend took this fab pic of them and has even entered it in a contest! I doubt that one day trip will be enough so we'll be back to battle the seaweed again this summer.

Still Here!

It has been a month since I posted anything, but I'm still here. With the end of school, new laptop, unfinished house and summer starting, I have been so caught up in minute to minute life. I feel like I am chasing my tail (and four other tails).

I think the most exhausting is the ranch house that will never be completed. There continues to be a zillion decisions and zillion annoying mistakes by the builder. So much for a fab summer with the kids running around being kids and mom finally getting out of the house. My garage is filled to the brim with furniture and other odds and ends for the ranch house. Right now we can barely walk through the garage to get out of the house. The other reason it is frustrating is because it seems we only have this summer to enjoy it so I want it completed ASAP!

We have a fabulous BIG move that is supposed to take place in October -- that is still four months away. Since Jason's company is a company and you never know when the rug can be pulled out from under you, I think I will be holding my breath until we actually move. Assuming we do get to move, it will be a dream come true, but we won't be here to enjoy the ranch (Creekside as we call it) for a couple of years. Hopefully it will be completed in the next month so we can get out and start enjoying cold drinks on the back porch overlooking the creek. I've got dreams of actually cooking food for my family out there instead of heating Schwan's every night (they do have great frozen veggies though). I'm guessing this will be like the adoption wait and once it is finally completed the building pains will be forgotten.
