New immigrant

As I was walking into HEB today, I noticed an employee with a nametag that said, "Leila". Since my name is so unusual, I always get excited when I find someone with the same name. I stopped and told her that my name was Lela, too. She seemed as excited about our tenuous connection as me. I told her that I spell my name L-E-L-A. "Oh!", she replied, "that is how I spelled it, but when I moved to America, this is how they spelled it on my papers." I felt like I had stepped back onto Ellis Island for a moment!
